Why is the SUN Losing MASS?

The Sun is losing mass at what seems like an alarming rate. It seems impossible, but true: our home star, the source of virtually all our energy, is losing 5 million tons of mass (matter) per second!


How is this possible? - you might wonder.


The simple answer lies in Einstein's famous equation: E = mc^2
